Hi all , aI am new to this site looks like y ou guys can help. I have a 99 blaser that I had a valve that droped on , so I had to put a piston and valve in. have it together and lashed the valves but still ticking a little. ead on some sites that the 99 4.3 has a zero lash and you just tighted to a specific torque. do I need to bring each valve up to the top when I do this ?

I adjust them just like a small block Chevy. Tighten them down engine running until they are not ticking then turn 1/2 turn tighter. That should do it the lifters are hydraulic, so the engine will smooth out quickly as long as lifters are good.

Check the repair manual for adjustment procedure.
Most are not adjustable.
Torque rocker arm down to torque specs.
If still clicking check rocker arm and push rod for wear.
And lifter for being collasped.
