Hi, I purchased a 2003 Savana and the guy said he has put in 3 batteries over the last year. The new one he just got is draining on me in 2 days of not starting the van. He said he changed a relay in the gas tank or something that a shop told him was causing the drain, but the problem is still there. Any ideas or has anyone heard of this happening before?
Thanks, James.
Thanks, James.

You will have to look for the cause of the draw on the battery. Use a meter set on the AMP scale between the battery cable and the battery and watch the current draw as you remove fuses and relays. The fuse or relay that causes the draw to drop when removed is the circuit that is causing your problem
Thanks, James.

ok , thanks a lot. I went in the garage tonight and started. I set up the meter in between the battery and lead and it showed that something was drawing approx 1 amp! I think that is a lot of current with nothing on??
So i started pulling fuses and on the first one labeled Radio Batt 15 amp........the meter dropped to a couple of mA's. Wow.
I left it out for now, until I figure out what the problem is.
I know the radio and door chime with the key in the ignition now doesn't work but do you know what else that 15 amp curcit runs???
Also if I change my radio for an after market , do you think that would fix the problem?
Thanks again, James Brampton, ON Canada.
