Hello there,
I want to get some volume out of the car (1972 "GTO") without being rude but coming close. I also don't want to be stopped by cops! What do you guys think I should buy? Thanks again for all of the past input. I just love this car more and more...

Sound tone and levels are a very personal choice. What one person considers to be quiet is too loud for the next. One suggestion is to go to a local car club cruise night.... and listen to a few cars.
Pick a few that you like and ask the owners what mufflers they use. I have found that classic car and rod enthusiasts like nothing better than to talk about what they have done to their cars..... so I am sure you will get some good answers.
If you install duals, be sure to place a balance tube between the two pipes upstream of the mufflers. This reduces the sound level and imo improves the tone.
