Testors Paint Thinning

Hi, I've been out of the modeling loop for quite a while due to working on my Bachelor's Degree, but over the summer I'm building a kit as a gift and I picked up some Testors Acrylic paint which claims to be an "all new" formula, newer than the last "all new" they came out with as I recall.

From what I remember most people on here are die-hard Tamiya users, but hopefully someone can help. All I need to know is if this new Testors Acryl can be thinned for airbrushing with isopropyl alcohol, or if I have to go buy some overpriced proprietary "acryl thinner."

I can't remember if it thins w/anything other than their own proprietary thinner; Tamiya acrylic thinner won't work. Water does work, but it doesn't make it flow normally, in fact it doesn't like being thinned much at all. It's possible that 91 or 99% alcohol or even acetone might work.

It's the half-ounce jar. I've about had it with Testors spray cans. They need to learn to make a better atomizer.

From my experience most of the testors acrylics don't really need to be thinned. If you get them in the bigger jars they are already pretty thinned and usually stay that way unless you leave the jars open for a while. Tamiya thinner doesn't work with the stuff. However the testors acrylic thinner in the squirt bottle's are perfect for it obviously. Its worth the purchase. IF your just using a hand brush you can use water to thin the paint a abit on a palette.
