2001 3.1 a/c problems

my a/c works whenever it wants, very intermitant compresser works and kicks on and off normally when the a/c is running when it stops blowing cold the compresser is not running. also recently my key has been getting stuck in the ignition and this is completely random too. are my problems related to ann ignition switch i saw a thread on that switch and it seems it can be linked to multiple problems.

I say no on the ignition switch/harness.

I would have the AC system checked for proper freon R134a amount and for leaks as if the refrigerant is low, the PCM will not command the compressor on and you will not get cold air.

Do a forum search about the key stuck in ignition problem. I had that same issue with my 2000 GTP and I traced it down to a pad park lock solonoid. I have yet to get it replaced, its just removed for the time being.

sorry should have given more info freon levels are good and no leaks my father who is a mechanic checked last year this is a on going problem ive had for over a year dad lives out of town so limited help there the problem almost seems electrical the way it just works when it wants ive been watching it and there is no pattern for when it happens
