Loses power

I drive a 1997 dodge ram 1500 5.2L 4wd pickup.
Ever since I bought this truck its always losing power up hills. Any suggestions on what to look for so I can fix this problem.

Take it out of overdrive, you probably have 3:55 gear's which make these trucks slugs when in OD.
