Hey all,
Just curious to see why it is that Tamiya or anyone else isn't producing any bikes from this series? It would seem that if this series wants more exposure, this is a perfect way. I imagine the thing that is a "sticking point" are licensing costs. Does anyone know for sure?
On a related note, anyone know if there are any new MotoGP kits on the way? I doubt it, but I figured I'd ask...

I have no idea. That might be the case, but I kinda doubt there hasn't been at least some upgrades somewhere along the line. Kinda like saying a DTM car is a road car with sponsor's names on them. Well, not really.
Just a thought, as I don't know...

Try looking in the series rules, it's probably stated somewhere in there.

In WSB you have to have the stock frame and engine. The engine is allowed to be ported and upgraded internally however. The brakes must be steel and not carbon, electronics can be replaced with Motec or whatever for traction control. Forks, shock and swingarm can be replaced. Bodywork has to look like the production machine but, must have a belly pan to catch engine oil.
Stock Honda's, Suzuki, etc. produce about 160 HP. but, a WSB bike make between 210-215 HP. They can also top out at about 215 MPH if given the room to do so.
I am sure there is more to it than that though,

Hmm. Any companies making decal sets for WSBK bikes? I'd love to try and convert one or two...
