A/C just quit ???

I have an '02 LeSbre...Yesterday my A/C worked fine...today my compressor won't turn on ??
I checked my fuse and it looks fine. The a/c was soo cold you had to wear a jacket and long underwear yesterday. I am trying to locate a pressure guage to see if system has any but my question is...Could this be related to a weak altenator??? I've had recent problems with car stalling and gagging, then not starting. I left the car sit and it started. I know my Ford has had similar issues when Alt was starting to go. :runaround:

Hey thanks....seems like this could be an easy fix. I have had the same problem with my Ford van and replaced them both together and it's still a POS. Just joking.

When your car has an episode of "stalling and gagging, then not starting" will the engine turn over @ normal speed and if so, do you have fuel & spark?

This happened at 2 different times. When it wouldn't start. It turned over like a champ. I suspect it was a fuel issues. The car was parked on a slight incline. BUT, to be honest, I never got into hardcore diagnostics because of the weather and when I did have time to look at it, it just started. Yesterday my "Service Engine Soon" light just came on. ??? I'm starting to go crazy here. Some fluid levels are low and I been working 66 hours in the last 4 days. I have off tomorrow and will get at this before I break down. Thanks

The starting issu happened again yesterday. I let it sit and it started. I can smell gas around the cap but can't see any leak anywhere. :banghead: I'm going to replace cap and fuel filter see what happens. Any suggstions greatly apprciated.
