I am hoping for a broken valve spring or jimmied cam follower that I can easily repair.
Once the valve cover is off, how far down do you have to disassemble the head to replace vlave springs or cam followers? Any special tools needed? I have the tool to use compressed air to hold vlaves in place with springs off on an assembled motor and the valve spring compressor to use with it on a standard pushrod motor. Will these be of any use to me on this project?
Thanks!

Make sure the valves are closed and the air is in the cylinders before pulling a spring.

Or stuff a small rope in the cylinder and rotate the engine by hand until it lockes the rope to the valves.
