Im currently deployed in Iraq and my wife bought me a 1997 Sunfire SE 2.2L for a project car when i get back i dont get much time to surf the net or the forums but i havent been able to find a thread that helps out to much with throttle body swaps and intake manifolds and half the time i cant get the site to load, the internet is crap i seen KustmAce thread for performance but could only get the Mantapart site to load and i was also wondering if i could get a intake manifold and throttle body from another vehicle with out to much fabricating and also if theres any other sites that cary those parts thank for your time and any help.

well i got some time to surf the forum and after reading the 30 threads on performance i think i got all the info i need i ordered WAI, U/L motor mounts, exhaust manifold, the car already has a magnaflow 2.25inch exhaust so i think ill just leave that alone im still wondering about the throttle body and intake manifold if i can go to a junk yard and get larger ones that would fit or just to get the stock one bored and buy the intake manifold any input would be helpful.

well it what i have and im gonna try to work with it ive seen plenty of threads where people have got quite a bit of power out of the 2.2L OHV its just a lil more of a challenge and a lil more costly but i decided im gonna go ahead and boost i found this kit on ebay i know its pretty cheap but would work out as a good starter kit im not looking to make all that much HP just wanna add a lil pep to the engine and possibly later on down the road upgrade the internals and run a lil more boost also ive seen a lot of mixed answers will i have to up grade my fuel system say to run between 5 to 8lbs of boost or would i be good with the stock TBI. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350216310030&viewitem=&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D1&category=33742

You need to read some more if you want to buy an e-bay turbo kit.... because the turbo's oil seal will be leaking in a short amount of time and the turbo manifold will rot right out.
But hey if thats the route you want to go by all means do it, and waste money.
I think we produced the cheapest installed turbo setup I've known on the market which is actually built using quality parts... which was $2,750-3,000 depending on options.

ok i lied im not gonna get rid of it i think i steered myself in the rite direction could use some pointers though or some input im just gonna go for rebuilding the internals cam shaft, valves, springs, rocker arms, push rods, lifters, rockers, valve guides and also bored TB and plenum, fuel pump all from jbodyperformance.com and mantapart.com so that pretty much max's out my $2500 budget and time to start saving for the boost o yea im not sure what size pistons to go with so if anybody has any input on that i would appreciate.

Jbodyperformance and Mantapart.......
2 shady companies... manapart doesn't even exist anymore.
www.j-body.org do some reading there. Lots of it. I'm sure you have a lot of time on your hands being in that hell hole over there. My bro is over there for his 5th tour.
On a side note, thanks for serving our country. I really appreciate the shit you guys endure for us all.

All good places to do business with that have and still do own j-bodies themselves.

o yea and also thanks for putting up with my j body ignorance im used to the V8 where u can do a few bolt ons and see decent HP gaines but im gonna try to do this build rite and start from the inside of the engine and work my way out i think it will be worth my while down the road instead of jumping into a boost and end up with a $4500 lawn ornament
