2002 Volkswagon Jetta

I have a 2002 volkswagon jetta tdi. While driving today the car stalled. I tried to re-start the car to no avail. I did notice a puddle of diesel fuel that formed on the ground under the passenger front of the car just in front of the front tire. Any ideas?

Your fuel filter/sediment bowl is over there. You must have had a break or disconnect. Have you ever serviced this? Here's a picture.
