Noises under the hood

Specs: 3.1L over 140K miles, new tires

I have a 98 cutlass and its make a few noises and I cant figure out why, the car itself runs fine the engine is smooth….:iceslolan

The issue I am having is when I start the car in the morning it makes a sound similar to a compressor going bad. Thing is my A/C is not on and the sound get louder when u turn the wheel left or right.

There is also a winding sound in the wheels when I am on the highway you can here it best when I am going around curves.

Anyone ideas?

Tough without a road test, no? The road noise could be a bad tire or wheel bearing, the other noise? could be anything, water pump, alternator, take the belt off see if it goes away.

Ok wheel bearings that's a start, but all the stuff u mentioned is brand new, alternator, water pump, belt, most all the pulleys, harmonic balancer, the belt, been replace no more then a year ago, is there anything else tire rods things like that???

This noise under the hood must be engine related, no? P/s pump noisey cold, possible?

i am not sure what you mean by "P/s noisey pump....", but once the car warms up the noise seems to stop, its the loudest fist thing in the morning or after the car has been off a while...not to mention the noise it makes when u turn the A/C on....:crying:
