alright i am thinking of embarking on an overhaul of my chevy 350 in my dad's old 78 c-10 scottsdale 4 speed (low-1-2-3) 2wd
i have a set of fueley heads (need rebuilt), and some headers
i was curious of what people though
i am thinking of pulling the engine and doing a hone and re-ring (truck has 83,8XX miles on it). from there i want to get the fueley heads cleaned up and put on, get a better cam, and possibly a new intake and carb
i haven't worked on these for about 7+ years (that was when i was 17) and im now out of the loop when it comes to what i should do for a semi-moderate build.
truck is in good condition but seems that the years have gotten to it and is what i believe leaking oil through the valve guides.
i have overhauled my old oldsmobile 455 engine when i was 17, pretty much by myself. a little help from my dad, but that was usually pointing me in the right direction and leaving.
my thoughts are going with a higher compression ratio, like 10:1 or so...
just need some help getting there :naughty:
always liked the holly street avenger carbs.. haha used one of those on a buddy's car and ran beautifully
any input would be appreciated.
thanks
Clinton
