Tire/Wheel Upgrade

I just purchased a '98 Tahoe four-door 4x4. I want to replace the stock 245/75R16 tires and 16x7 rims with a set of 265/75R16 tires and 16x8 rims to improve the looks slightly. I will be installing a set of flares and don't want the tires to extend past them. What offset should I use on the rims? I don't want to deal with keys, a lift, or any other mods at this point. Will this setup I have in mind cause any clearance or performance problems? Thanks in advance for the help.

Back spacing on the rims for your vehicle w/16x8 should be 4.48"

Take a look at www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) and check out the rims for your application. They will give you the specifics that you are looking for.
