Broken Caliper Bolt

Hello, My caliper bolt broke while replacing the brakepads. I drilled my last one out on a previous car. This bolt started to drill out shavings but then stopped halfway through. I am using a new craftsman hardsteel drillbit with pb blaster with no results. The steel seems to have hardened. Is there a better way of removing a broken caliper hexbolt?

If you can get the caliper off, just get a rebuilt one, no? BTW, always post the year and model.

1991 oldsmobile cutlass cruiser 3.3L v6. The caliper is attached with one hexbolt that is broke in half.

You can remove the caliper mounting bracket to get a better angle on drilling out the caliper bolt. might also try something beside PB, it could lube the bit to much and its not bitting into the bolt. :2cents:

I removed the Hexbolt with a hacksaw. Took awhile but worked. Thanks for the help.
