Hello,
I've replaced the front bearing Hub on my 01 GT, the bad bearing noise is gone, but the ABS/Trac Off lights are still on. I've checked the new connector and all the other ones and they are all well plug and with no visible damage to the wires. Are there any secrets to reset the ABS light? I've tried disconnecting the battery for a while and it still the same.
Please suggestions.
Thanks
Weber

If the light is on as soon as you start the car and never goes out than you have a hard fault somewhere in the ABS system. It is very possible that there is another sensor that is bad or there is a wiring issue. Have the codes read and go from there. If the ABS detected no problems its would have turned off the light automatically.

I don't have anywhere to go and get the error codes checked for free. All the garages in my area charge about 50.00 for the scan. Is there any way of checked the sensor directly on the hub plug, like resistance with a multi-meter or something?
Another idea I've had was get a new Hub Bearing and just plug it in without actually installing it. Does anyone know if this would work?
Thanks

You can measure A/C voltage at the sensors. Since you just replaced the one it shoulod be good. Compare that reading the the other 3 and see where your at.

As mentioned you can check the output of the wheel sensor with a digital multimeter setup on A/C voltage low scale. To be specific you will see around 0 to 100mV (millivolts) as you rotate the respective wheel.
As for WSS resistance the front wheel sensors will read around: 950 - 1300 ohms
Rear: 850 - 1350 ohms
If the above is good then it will need to be scanned with an ABS capable scan tool. Also, another common issue with GM/Bosch 5.3 ABS systems could be the electronic brake and traction control module (EBTCM) and not any of the wheel sensors causing the ABS and TRAC OFF lights.

Thanks for all the info.
I'll be trying it on the weekend.
