99 Conversion

Sup guys! So I've been toying with the idea of getting a new paint job and it may be coming up soon since my clear coat has been pealing like crazy as of late. Anyways, while at it, I am HIGHLY considering doing a 99 conversion as well since I can just get everything done and over with in one shot. Problem is is that some conversions just look down-right ugly while others look hot as hell. Not sure if it's because of the color of the car, or maybe some are TTs and have the FMIC on (which looks really nice BTW), or rims, or car height or what!?! Some looks really good while others are ugly. LOL

So yeah, opinions needed:

1-would you do the 99 conversion?

2-if so, would you go with the regular 99 look:

or the Cianci NOVARA look:

3-if the regular 99 look, what do you think about the front lip?

4-where's the best place to get the best deals on body parts? All I know is 3SX who sells them - you guys think IPS sells body parts too?

Let me know what you guys think. BTW, my car's a 94 SL if you're wondering how it looks right now.

Thanks in advance.

IPS should still sell 99 conversion parts.

Cherry Hill MItsubishi, just tell them you're from 3si, and they give you a 30% discount, guaranteed to be a SHIT TON cheaper than 3sx or anyone else for that matter. Just get the parts list/part numbers off line, and they can ship it directly to you.

Personally, I'd go with the OEM 99 front bumper, with the 2 piece lip.

Personally, if you own a 2nd gen which I think you do, go with a Cianci Torino front end (not the whole body kit). There is a group buy on it right now on 3si too and Torino front end > 99 front end.

Mmm...Torino, cheaper and better looking than a 99. With the group buy I think you can get it for about ~$575.

i'd go stock 99 with the lip with 94 lights to save on cost.

but if you decide to go with the novara, speedtweaker on 3si is selling a brand new one for 475. ive seen it in person, its new in box.

I only have one problem with Torino and Novara.....................They are fiberglass.

If they were made in urethane they would be awesome. Fiberglass bumper covers suck. As much as I love Cianci products and try to send business his way I can never recommend anyone use a fiberglass bumper on a street driven car. Stay with a stock 99.

Hey guys, thanks for all your opinions/suggestions.

As far as the Cianci Torino front end goes, I don't really like the way it looks because it looks too much like a 97/98 front end and I can't stand the way those look.

And the more I look at the Cianci Novara, from the front it looks really good but I think it looks ugly from the side so I will more than likely pass on that one too.

So it looks like IF I do do a conversion, it will be a 99 with the lip. Otherwise I'll probably just get a Bomex lip. Still debating...

Emily (or Hanz - not sure who posted), thanks for the info on Cherry Hill MItsubishi. I'll give them a ring and see how their prices are. I actually need a window regulator at the moment and IPS gave me a pretty good quote but I'll check them out too since IPS has been a paint to get a hold of recently.

Thanks guys!!!
