86 Ford Bronco - Ignition and Remote Start

Lately, it has been very difficult to get the ignition to turn, sometimes taking to hands and a lot of strength. I was wondering if installing a remote start would be a viable solution, also meaning I wouldn't have to replace the ignition.
Does anyone know if the ignition has to be able to turn in order for the remote start to work?

Thanks,
Megan

Parts stores will sell you a new key switch or you can buy a dealer item.
Remote start is a lot harder to install than a key switch.
