I have to do the old "tap on the starter motor with a tire iron" thing sometimes to get it to turn over. Last time this happened the mechanics said I needed a new starter. Could it just be the solenoid?
Is replacing the starter a big deal? Not much room down beside the engine there.
Thanks,
RC

first I would remove the battery neg terminal and clean and secure wire connections,,,,also the solenoid to motor nut...this nut with a wire to motor brushes is known to loosen or just not properly torqued when manufactured/rebuilt...
I have found this on most starters out of the box new...
