Hazard light switch 'fell' into dash

The car is a 2001 Olds Alero, with 135,000miles, its my wife's car. Long story short someone that it would be funny :uhoh: to push the hazard light but it fell into the dash stuck 'on'. Yea. So I was wondering if there is a way to remove the dash to get to it. I had to pull the turn signal fuse to get them to turn off for now but that also turned of the turn signals (no duh). Thank you for the help

I had the exact same thing happen w/ my '01 Alero just last week. What I did, with the help of my son, was feed a string w/ a loop on the end through the hole, then, depending how thin your arms are, lay down on the floor and reach up through a gap in the dash by the gas peddle until you feel the hazard switch, pull it as far down as you can and loop the string around it and then pull on the string, guiding the switch back through the hole. What I did then was put a few drops of super glue around the base of the switch and firmly tugged on the string until the glue dried. It's not easy but MUCH easier than removing the dash!!

It can also be reached by removing the instrument cluster. Remove the two screws in the black plastic surrounding the cluster, then the four screws holding the cluster in place. The plugin is on the upper right corner, unplug and remove it. Then you can get your hand into the area of the hazard switch.

Yep I was able to reach in from the bottom. Thanks for all the tips guys, coming back here in the future.
