Has anyone seen or even built one of these before?
If so, what's it like?

If I'm correct it is a Modeler's kit: A pre Studio 27 version? I know they bought the Dodge Viper GTS-R moulds from them and made their own 2000 Oreca kit, just as the McLaren longtail. So maybe also the McLaren sorttail...
I got both Viper kits and must say the S27 are a little bit better, also the wing supports are moulded into the body with Modeler's kits. In general the Modeler's have a cheaper price making them interesting. I saw it too, but am still not sure if I should buy it...

That could be it! If a few of us buy that, it could be what it finally takes for Tamiya to finally announce that they're doing an F1 kit. :grinyes:
Incidentally, get back to work! They'll never do an Elise until your resin one is finished.

Elise is being worked on.... sort of.
I've come to realise that I need to compromise between level of accuracy and actual buildability and perhaps more importantly, kit-make-abilty.
Right now, I'm filling in some of the voids that exist between chassis and body (with miliput) and making it more MFH/resin kit style.
I've also realised that if I want to cast the tub chassis, I'll need to do the same and fill in some of the voids (much like the chassis in the photo above).
In any case, I think I will need to make an all in one, less detailed chassis, again in the style of other resin kits for the sake of ease of reproduction.
First re-cast of new body should be done this weekend so maybe some photos then.
