Hey guys, i need some few tips. Do yall think I can beat a VW GTI 1.8T with my Automatic w/ triptronic RSX. His GTI is brand new, (mine has 2000 miles on it) and he's is manual. The only problem is that he just learned manual. He's not really good at it but he still in the process of learning. He got his yesterday. Do yall think it will be close race? Yall think i have a chance of winning? I have seen website saying rsx go 6.7 for 60 and gti going 6.6 for 60...Can any one gimme some few pointers on racing on triptronic...

you should beat him, especially if he is a dumbass and hasnt broken his motor in yet

omg. Please beat his ass PROPER if he tries to race his GTI before the break in period is over. (and i dont mean race him, i mean literally beat him with a bat)

as your lining up to race get a little person to come out and put a bannana in his tailpipe and run away, youll win for sure :silly2:

close but i think the gti would win

tell your friend to invest in the K04 tubo upgrade

its pretty cheap and adds a good amount of power

Er...I could've sworn the auto RSX ran mid-high 7s? (7.7 I believe?) and the base manual RSX runs low 7s (7.3?)?

gti will smoke the rsx non-type s. no questions...only way u'll beat him is if he REALLY REALLY can't drive.

unless this guy leased his 1.8t, he's pretty stupid. sucks how some uninformed people go out there and race w/o any knowledge of automotive mechanics watsoever. there's this guy w/ a pretty nice looking eg hatch who couldn't jack up his car........

If the RSX isn't a Type-S the GTI will beat it, unless the guy drivin sucks so much he misses a gear or something crazy stupid like that

what is your opinion on having all monotone cars?

see i have a black gs-r and it has an all black leather interior and it has gunmetal konig tantrum rims on it. i bought it like this and i am still contemplating what to do with it. first i have to lower it because of the stock springs with the 17's it looks like i could go off roading

do you have any suggestions about what i should do with this car it is my first nice car and i am almost willing to put any amount of money into it but i am starting out small.

you may want to post this in the integra forum, not the racing forum.

that rsx will get OWNED. the new 20vt's are bad cars. i test rode in one when my buddy was test driving it. those buggers are quick after 3500.

Neither of those two cars would win cause they are both junk. This is one of the only races where both cars are instantly losers before the race even began hahahahaha Naw I got my $$ on the RSX top speed is a little over 140mph:flash:

:hehehe: com'n now...

nah, but its really not a matter of top speed here cpach. its wut each car can do from a stop til they reach 1/4 mile...an the gti will leave the rsx in the dust.

personally, the gti 1.8t is one of my favorite dub's. a car that can put down low 15's stock, an be into the 14's w/ only a chip...its tough to argue w/ that type of performance outta wut isn't really set-up to be a drag car.

Honestly with those times not impressing at all. If I were actually into the drag racing scene I wouldnt even bother starting off with a vehicle that only pulls 15 seconds stock - thats so Highschooler Bama lame. Nope not me Id get a nice size 6-8 cylinder car with serious Balls to begin with and nice stats and then work from there to make it a real beast. Not start off with a economy slow ass bucket spend maaaaaaddddd $$$$$bread$$$$ on a chip and still only be in the 14 second --most everybody is passing you lane. No thank u

No thank u last time i checked it wasent too fun filling up a v8 with a tank of gas, you got 50 bucks every week for gas? ide rather have a celica gts, rsx type s, gti, srt-4! get good gas mileage and be pretty quick at the same time

50 Bucks?!! I don't think so unless you're commuting everyday pretty far. I only spend 40, on a 6 MPG 1977 Chrysler Newport with a 440 CID (7.2L). And last time I checked the Camaro's and Mustangs are getting into the 20's. 20 MPG with 300+ horsepower, all in a stock vehicle - it's hard to beat. Even with S2000, it's little 2 Liter 4 banger can get less than 20 in the city. In fact, I'm looking at a specs book I bought and it says the EPA rated the Camaro (V8 not V6) with auto tranny at 18/27 city/highway. And a Prelude (97-01) at 21/26. Thats pretty funny that a V8 with 320 horsepower and not to mention 340 Ft/lbs of torque gets better highway mileage than a 2.2L 4 cylinder with 200 HP and 156 pounds of torque. Looks like if you commute you'd be better off getting a Camaro with a killer V8 rather than a Honda 4 banger!

and then when you take it to the track and line up beside a stock looking civic and it beats you, the domestic guys are gonna have to cut your mullet and make you buy a town car.

theres a turbo kit that you can buy for (enter amount here) which puts the gti in at 12 seconds. theres a video of this gti with the kit on it beating some old ass "muscle car". all you down home hicks need to wake up and give in to the small litre takeover :/

Yeah well you got to put a turbo on, not to metion thousands of dollars to upgrade the internals and fuel system so it doesn't blow up.:loser:

that would be a close race but since its an auto and the gti is manual, odds are usually you would lose but since he is new i would say yes. But good luck.
