idle

95 jimmy 4.3 215000mi my idle surges up and down my idle is at 750rpms but will surge ti1200rpms just changed plugs and gas filter. no gas smell ,if i clean the egr valve would it help some or should i be looking for something else.code reader wont reade codes so im repairing blind any help would be appriciated k

95 has several diffent VCM/PCM setups.
Is it OBD11 or OBD1?

Got any check engine lights on?
If so you need to get a engine capable scanner on it and read codes.
Post back codes.

didnt bother its been working fine ,i ereasd code, my scanner only ereases them early obd11
