tranny return line-2000 Lumina

Can anyone tell me which tranny line is the return line. I think it's the lower line but my thinking usally gets me in trouble. I'm installing a external cooler to try to keep the tranny temp down. A $60.00 try at not doing a $1400.00 tranny shop fix. Still driving with the P1811 code, only strikes when HOT. Thanks
