I been working on painting my car for weeks, its not very easy by yourself doing all the work. I'm to the final step applying the clear coat, but water is coming thru the line and coming out of my gun and ruining the clear coat...
any of you guys painters? There is water spots in the clear all over the car.. Had to cover the base or we woulda had to scuff it down and spray it again before the clear because it would have been over 24 hours.
So the water spots, there is only 1 coat of clear on the car. I can sand them down with 1000 then 1500, but then what? the clear looks cloudy and it obviously needs more coats, should I just spray clear over the 1500 grit scuff? I'm kinda lost on what to do.
thanks for any help!!!!

Hi
Well according to what i read it says that you have to repait if the water spots go down to the base coat but if the water spots are just on the surface then they can generally buffed out.

I am not a pro by any means, but do you drain your compressor every day and have a air and water filter at your gun air inlet ?? my :2cents:
also maybe run some thinner through you air line and let dry before painting

The contamination (water and oil) is coming from your air compressor. I would suggest you drain the compressor and purchase an air filter- There are many options available and I have supplied a link show you some possibilities that should fit your budget. Most paint stores will carry something very similar. http://www.spraygunworld.com/Information2/AirFilters.htm
