My 89 civic stopped starting...the spark plugs got wet, i didnt need to drive it right away so i waited a few weeks until i really needed it again and i started it right up. Didnt really even need it then so i figured i would install toggle switches for me cooling fans that wouldnt turn on. Well a tool got grounded out and sparked. I then went through every fuse i could find and replaced any and all that was blown. Well car still wouldnt start up. I then checked to see if i was gettin a spark out of number 1 well there wasnt. I then replaced the cap, rotor, coil, and distributer...the local mechanic said the coil and distributer were bad even paid him to do a diagnostic down and he said distributer. Well car still wont start and im wondering if it was a fuel problem and maybe it wasnt getttin get the fuel that we need...Can anyone help?

Well, that certainly sucks man. Did you check the main relay to see if it was turning the fuel pump on. Do a search in this forum and you'll find loads of things about the main relay.

FYI - little trick I learned many years ago when I had my CRX. To get the fans to stay on all the time, simply piggyback a ground wire from the ground wire going to the fan to the chassis. Every time you start the car, the fan will stay on. I didn't mind the fan staying on all the time and didn't have to have wires leading to toggle switches etc.
