Power source for clutch switch

95 Escort wagon, 1.9 w/mnl trans...starter will not engage. Checked everything I can think of...starter-ok, relay-new, safety switch in trans-ok, clutch switch-ok....heres the kicker: voltage to the clutch switch drops to 8v when clutch is depressed (no loss in switch itself/bypassed it with the same result). Temporarily installed a remote starter switch to get the car starting (works just fine). Where ever the voltage supply comes from (to the clutch switch, subsequently then to the starter solenoid terminal) is failing under the load of contact with the starter. Where the heck does the clutch switch get its' power from??

The power starts at the ignition switch which is hot at all times, then goes to the inhibit relay and then to the clutch switch. Inhibit relay is probably too high on resistance. No, I don't know where it is at.

Could be a bad ignition switch too... disconnect from the switch and hotwire it.
