Posted a thread not to long ago about 97 s-10 not starting. Wasn't getting compression. bad head. I purchased a rebuilt engine from a 95 s10. my question now is on the 97 there's a detonation knock sensor and not one on the 95. Is this going to be a problem not being hooked up? All other sensors, with the exception of the egr and misc vacuum lines, appear to be identical.

Rule of the thumb is to transfer all sensors from old engine to new engine.

The 95 4.3 used a different intake & computer system. 95s were a cross of OBD I & II. Plus it didn't use mass air flow.

Plus 1995 is by itself for interchange, return this engine getting your money back and find a 1996 and up 4.3.A 2000 and up wil fit,you will need the bellhousing and starter bolts also and it will fit.I have done this, the only differance is the bell housing and starter bolts which are metric on a 2000 and up 4.3 and the hollander says this engine does not fit which is not true.
