OK I have 2003 VORTEC MOTOR S-10 4 X 4 and I have been geting a vibration at 55mph and 1500 RPM when I get the vibration I wanted to see if it was drive train related so I put it in to NUTRAL and it went away HUH seems like the u-joints but I had them 2 of them ( i think ) 1 1/2 years ago 20 thousand miles ago does the front drive shaft spin only in 4 wheel drive or is it spin all the time BIG QUESTION how many u-joints are on my truck? thanks for all the help ANTHONY

It's probably time to balance all four tires as 1 is most likely giving you your vibration. And your truck has 2 u-joints on the rear driveshaft and 1 in the front.

Shifting to neutral removes power from the driveline, (and the wheels). If the vibration goes away, that tells you that it's not the tires and that the problem is driveline related. Yes, the front driveshaft turns whenever the vehicle is in motion.
