This happens to mine , too. I also have a 2001 LS. Is this a common problem? If anyone knows a solution it would be greatly appreciated. Would replacing the flasher help?

Changing it should be very simular to an impala. You have to pull the dash off - (1 screw behind the fuse panel, 2 screw above the Gauges, and 1 in the knee plate area).
On impalas, you just push in the clips, and it slides out of the front of the Dash without taking the Front button off the switch. but for the MC, you might have to pull the button off the front, and pull the switch it self out of the back.
Heres what the actual unit will ook like:

Sometimes starter won't kick in on my 2000 monte carlo. Battery and connections are good. Wiggling the wires around the battery area seem to make it work. This has happened a couple time in the last mo. or so. I get no check eng. light.

Which wires? Could be dirty/Corroded Wire connections. Clean and retighen them all.
