Hi all,
thus i took a lot of your time already by now i'll keep it a bit shorter.
And a lot of you know that one already....
I'm very proud to announce the finish of this project in EVERY way.
I took part in the competition at the German Model Masters held last weekend in Nürnberg and finished gold in my category AND was awarded as "Best of show" in general! I was like shocked in such a positive way you can't even imagine because there were some really great subjects among my DBR9. What a surprise and a joy!!! I was there with some friends and colleagues over the weeekend and we had such a great time.....
THANKS TO EVERYONE OF YOU who gave me support and motivations and critics over the last months, really!!!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed this build and this community A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a "round entrance" as we would say in german (ein runder Auftritt).
So bye for now, i have to think about some ideas of my NEXT PROJECT something quite different .....believe me................i'll be back someday.

ALL THE BEST for all of you
PS: The pictures were taken by Martin Graff, host of the GMM and way better than my efforts and trials. Thanks!!!

Bye

Very well done weathering. You must do alot of military models. You
really made it look real. It takes a brave person to put so much dirt(fake dirt) on such a great looking model. It really payed off.

Stunning! Weathering is an amazing art, very difficult to do, but you did it perfectly! This is the finest example of a race worn car I've seen. Just beautiful!

Excellent job! That´s the best weathering job I have seen in a race car model. You should show here a photo of the real car next to the model to let everybody see the realism of the weathering.

Very nice indeed. It's quite hard to define the exact point to stop the weathering actions: I think one enter a kind of frenzy, you achieved a great balance.

Absolutely stunning :worshippy

The WIP was great to follow and the final result is sublime.
The base gives it just the necessary degree of context to bring out the weathering but not dominate the model - bravo!

One of the finest weathering jobs I've ever seen. The detail in the weathering alone makes it a sure winner. I love all of the subtle marks and scuffs in the soiling on the door and rear 3/4 panel - just like it is the real machine. Brilliant depection of a race worn DBR.
Make room on your shelves for all of the other trophies and awards you'll be winning.
Very well done.

Sensational model...!!! Brilliant job on the weathering, this is truly one of the most realistic looking models I've ever seen, bravo! And also a big thanks for sharing the building progress and all the little tips and techniques.

I think you mostly build military models right (If I remember correctly), so just out of curiosity, your next build will be a street or racing car (or bike) right :grinno::grinno:?

Hi Jochen

Great build on your Aston, perfect weathering.:iceslolan:iceslolan

I am sorry for GMM i planed to come, but we just arrived from our hollidays at Philippines saturday 24.May that was to much stress to go direct to Nürnberg.

How about you to come over to switzerland at oktober 3.-4. to 16.Basler Modellbautage.from IPMS Basel.

I will sponsor a special Trophy for best Motorsport Model in any scale and all materials are aloud.I will be the judge for this trophy to,so i am not aloud to join this contest.
You can also join the Normal Contest from the Club we have Cars and Cars Diorama Classes.

It will be great if you can come.
Once in November there is also a just for cars,Bikes and Trucks show at Bergen Enkheim near Frankfurt,i was going there every year since 2005.
And its always fun.

So just tell me.

Best Regards Roger

Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Jochen. Your build looks more than awesome. I really like what you did to replicate the front wind shield with its "cleaned" dirt and rain.
