yellowing decals

As im currently building this kit what must i do to prevent this tragedyfrom happening to me.

Well, it could be a couple of things. Were the decals yellow when he applied them?
If so put them to a window that the sun shines in and it will help take out the yellow. About a week should do it but constantly check them.

After applying the decals did he clear coat over them? If so what brand did he use? Or did he clear the kit and then apply the decals thus not adding any clear to them. Either event it would be the clear coat used.
These are the two factors I know of that will yellow decals, age and type of clear.

Only way to be 100% sure is to cut all the carrier film off. Although that is not going to be entirely practical in the case of that big RENAULT logo. As Chris said above, clearing before and after the decals is your best bet.

Also they ay a cure ofr yellowed decals on the sheet is to expose them to sunlight, I wonder if the process would still work once they are applied?
