granted Hentai is actually rather sick and twisted ... its REALLY comedic ... especially the dubbed stuff ... holy christ that is some of the funniest fake bed noises i have ever heard!

yes, some of that hentai is very sick and twisted, and they also make sure they draw all the details they can. Either way, lets keep this on Anime, not Hentai.

So whats the coolest new Anime out there, last one I enjoyed was Esca Flowne, but they took that off TV. Now Trigun is gonna be on Cartoon Network next week? so I can't wait to stay till 1:00 AM watching it. Right now I'm watching Lupin, it is mad funny:D

nemo_wolf
04-01-2003, 01:41 PM
i hate the dubed version of Lupin ... they pronounce it lupon and that aggrivates me.

As for the coolest anime ... dude hands down is Berserk. Blood, Gore, Guts, 6ft tall swords ... you name it and it has it. The Manga just got lisenced so im waiting on that. There are already like ~27 volumes of that so theres plenty of story to read about ... and the manga wasnt censored for TV viewing ... WOOO!

Ummm ... obviously if you havnt seen Init D ... Ummm ....

Saint Seiya is old skewl goodness, if you can get your hands on it. my HK import shop had it in two 5 DVD sets. At like ~75 bucks a pop, so 150 for the set. And im still missing like two more box sets.

BTW Escaflowne is one word.

Love Hina, holy christ this was the biggest name in the Fansub industry for like 2 years. 24 eps, 2 specials/movies, and 1 3ep OVA.

Ummm ... Full Metal Panic. Great story, and wow on this overall. Great mech design!!! I dont know if you can get it yet but look for it.

Yea i could go on but most series i know of are still airing eps in Japan so arnt really out for the public to consume.

BigBearWest
04-02-2003, 03:08 AM
How many Eps in Full Metal Panic?!?!?!?!

nemo_wolf
04-02-2003, 03:57 AM
i wana say 24. There might be 25 though. I know for sure that it didnt go to 26. Thats not entirely new ...

You want new and brilliant anime ...

Ghost in the Shell : TV
Naruto : TV

and

Wolf's Rain

i still enjoy ninja scrolls.....did they ever come out with more than 2 vampre hunter d episodes??

nemo_wolf
04-02-2003, 01:37 PM
vampire hunter D was a movie dude ... and theres two of those. Thats enough.

Yea there are classic newb movies like ninja scroll and akira ... maybe stuff like tenchi and slayers for series ... but they really arnt that great anymore. The quality just isnt up to par with some of the artwork from newer stuff. And the stories are "old" and have already spawned there next generation series ...

BLU CIVIC
04-02-2003, 02:06 PM
i know vampire hunter is a movie...incorrect wording......i was impressed so much with akira that i named my son Akira.... still has to be my favorite anime

Tony
04-02-2003, 02:41 PM
Akira confused the shit out of me. I have only watched it once, but plan on watching it again. Found out that the BlockBusters in Tulsa rent Anime, so once i get some money its time for a trip to Tulsa to get some Anime. I remember they have like 3 episodes of Beserk, an Episode of Ex-Driver, some Ninja Scrolls and quite a few other ones

i'm surrently trying to find some speed racer episodes....

here he comes here comes speed racer....he's a demon on wheels :p

nemo_wolf
04-03-2003, 02:00 AM
Akira shouldnt in theory really make a whole lot of sense. Akira is based entirely on the manga. And like berserk they leave alot of the important details out because everyone that watches the anime in japan has or will read the manga. Granted here in the states were the manga comes in like 4 volumes and retails for something like 25-30 bucks a pop its not exactly easy to find in your average book store. Ive seen a set sit on the shelf and be swopped up years later for a transfer to some midwest store cause some hick has more money to spend then me.

Hehehe ... my little rant.

As for speed racer, i believe there are older releases on VHS. I doubt you'll find them on anything but a thrift store, EBay, or maybe by luck in some discount clearance place.

Dude, that just isn't right, Spike died at the end of Cowboy Bebop. That sucks. Well shit.

As you can tell, I just finished watching Cowboy Bebop, still got the movie to go though, still that blows man, Spike was cool. Same with Ed, and Ed had to leave, that sucks man.

Tony

Well just finished watching the movie, good movie. I like the whole series, kinda doesn't link together well, but still a very good series.

yea like Blue said ... its on cartoon network, when i couldnt tell you so check you local listings and blah blah ...

Its about this dude Spike, an ex mafioso badd (yess to D's) ass martial artist, who works as a bounty hunter with ex-cop Jet, who has a past just as deep as everyone else.

After a few miss adventures they add in Ein, the dog ... dont ask just accept. Ed, who talks with the dog kinda and is a hacker for all purposes of classification. and the lovely miss Faye Valentine, gambler and mistress of chaos.

So thats the cast ... the REAL plot is seen in glimpses through episodes scattered throughout ... and then comes to a climax in the last two.

And seeing as how all my friends Initial D dvd's are currently in the philiopines ... i might just watch the Cowboy Bebop series on my own DVD set.

well I think john hit cowboy bebop good enough for you.

Also, I just got through watching Princess Mononoke, great movie. I d/l it, hoping it was the japanese version of it, but I was wrong and waited 2 days for the thing to d/l and it was in english, when I could have just ran to blockbuster and rented it and got it in better quality. Oh well, still a good movie.

GITS as its refered to in the fansub world is VERY popular ... i should know my group is the #1 downloaded version of it. look for AONE and you get quality.

Cowboy Bebop is GREAT. great music and a story line that kicks much ass on most other series ...

to go off the topic of noir that someone brought up outside this thread ... when it should have been asked here ...

Noir is decent but the story drags ... ive seen the first umm half or so of the series and although its visually stunning i thought it relied a tad bit much on the blood and gore factor ... that doesnt even count on the entire female lead roles ... so needless to say its filled with fan service to no end. i wouldnt mind seeing the rest of the series but im not paying 30 bucks a DVD for the privilage of watching 3 or maybe even 4 eps per. i hav better things to spend my money on like Berserk or Kenshin ....

Ninja Scroll: The Series
does the series air in Japan or USA?.. i havent kept up with any info. on the series, so if anyone knows anything - can u post some of it, thanks..

nemo_wolf
09-20-2003, 12:46 PM
its airing in japan ... should be very done there ... i remember hearing about the battles between fansubbers and retailers. fansubbers can put out decent subs for any series withing 3-5 days of it airing in japan. this causes problems cause the us distributor of the series was pissed that several groups were doing that series even though they had already bought the liscence for it. needless to say, all but one group stopped subbing it but that one group continued ... they arnt the best of subbers so i hear ...

anyways long story short, you should be able to find early eps of the series online via irc and MAYBE, long shot, kazaa and emule and such ... but not the full series. infact, if the distributor put as much weight as i think they did ... you might not actually find anything at all and have to wait for the commercial release which should be some time in 04.

Well I just bought the U.S. Version of Initial D. Thank god TokyoPop was smart and decided to put both versions on the DVD. I wasn't even able to get through the scene where Itsuki is talking to Takumi about buying a car from the Auto Trader looking mag. I do believe I stopped right when Mogi walked up. They butchered it big time, but as I said, thank god the original is on the DVD also.

well it didn't look like they put too much effort into it this time around, but instead of going into that again, go check out my post on the Initial D forum. I had a couple paragraphs to say about the DVD, both good and bad.

Wolverine! Is that one from Japan? Dubbed Marvel Anime? I just got the season 1 of X-men Anime. It is subbed in english, I love how it looks. Where did you get Wolverine and Thuder Cats from?

Full Metal was a good series.

I did the whole Initial D 6 month ago. It was wicked to see again.

I get all my tv shows from tvunderground.org.ru - I don't even have live tv hooked up in my house.

The Wolverine was a Japan Anime subbed in english.
