This is an amazing site! Wish I signed up ages ago.
I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy, and I want to remove the radio to replace some defunct lights.
I'm not sure how to remove the dash panel without breaking anything?
Any suggestions please?

to remove the dash board all you have to do is grab the trim around the gages and pull slowly work your way around untill it comes off. all that is holding it on is some clips.

That is not correct. There are plenty of screws that need to come out.
Start by taking off the knee panel under the steering column. You also need to remove the panel under the dash on the drivers side as well. Once you have those off, there are a few screws at the bottom of the dash panel and a one/two above the inside where the instrument cluster is. THEN you just gently pull as there are some clips that hold it in after the screws are all removed.

Just wanted to add, when you remove the panel, be extremely careful (if you have tilt wheel, tilt it all the way down) around the hazard light button or you could snap it right off.
