Question bout auto paints... Will plasticote primer work? or should i get auto primer? Also, what is the best auto paint brand? duplicolor? plus, shouldi get duplicolor clearcoat or does it not matter

Primer: I'd use Tamiya as it is the finest out there. It should be ok to paint with Duplicolor paint over it.
Yes, get Duplicolor clear as well if you need it. But be careful and use both the paint and the clear by applying numerous thin coats. That thing is reactive, it will eat through primer and plastic if you apply too much with the first few coats. Same with the clear, it will easily eat through several coats of paint, primer, and plastic. Very reactive stuff.
One more thing. Be prepared to have quite a bit of orange peel effect. this is what you get with Duplicolor in most cases. But with patience it can be polished to a wonderful shine.
