I just put my 2nd Mass air Flow sensor in my 2000 GP GT, it runs great now but the engine light is still on. Anyone know how to get it off? Unhooking the battery doesn't work.

Back before I had a code reader, when I had issues and after I fixed the problem, to get the SES light to shut off, I knew a guy a Checker who would clear it for me. Advance wouldnt due to liability reasons for some reason.

You can also drive it. I think it takes two "trips" without the fault for the SES light to go out.

I have driven it a few times and light still won't go out which is wierd because when I had the defective MAF on which I got at Autozone, the light did go out for a day but then it started acting up again and I had to unplug the MAF, kept stalling, but now I got another one, car runs good now but engine light still on????? weird.

Find a shop that will clear the code for you.

By "trips" I dont mean a few drives. The car actually needs to go on a few drive cycles without the fault in order for it to turn the SES light off.

BTW, just the clarify, unhooking the battery on OBD2 vehicles usually does not reset the SES light like on OBD1 vehicles.

Face north, standing on your right foot, start reciting the alphabet backward while gently rocking back and forth....oh you'll never fall for that...

Tim is right, a scan tool is the best way or the car has to be driven though a few drive cycles before the light will reset itself.
