Cool.... is that a car you stripped down or a new one from Panoz?

It was a used GTS car from a private owner who had stripped the car down.

I was thinking the same thing but I figured I just didn't know any better.

looking at that car without the body I had a thought for weight reduction. What if you replace the sheet metal panals with aluminium like a FFR. I bet there is about 100 lbs of savings.

We painted the chassis here when it was all apart. I have to dig out the chassis plate to give you the id#. The shocks are Koni alloy bodied ones we had here. not all the parts came with the car when we bought it so it is being put together wither some new and some old parts.
Also it is an automatic :naughty:

Some GTS frames were painted black...The trailing arms do have the bracing..it is just hard to see it in the photographs...Lots missing at the moment including engine, gearbox..seats, gauges, body, exhaust etc etc......

How about a new class: V8 Super Kart!
Doesn't it have the centered front tow bracket as on GTS? Can't quite make it out on the front 3/4 photo. Wondering what the WC cars have on the front. I hate the offset strap on mine for pulling it straight on/into a trailer.

Hey James or Hayes where did you get that rear lexan window with the cool pressure release holes? Can I buy one?
wirewheel99
07-23-2009, 10:01 AM
Hi Tom, we had the rear window cut locally as it a flat piece of lexan. Just masked it off and painted the outside edge black.
We have the vents here..$20 a piece.
best wishes
James

You can also order these from www.gt-racing.com (http://www.gt-racing.com) part number 66bi. If you mount these lower on the rear window it does not obstruct the view. These work well in my 911. I am going to install these in the WC car this winter along with fiberglass trunk vents.
