Have a professional shop do the work. Don't go cheap. It's fairly cheap.

I agree--let a shop do the work. Also, find a shop that will do the work well.

yeah the two common problems with tinting is 1) it gets bubbles and 2) it gets purple and looks like crap. Ask around and get the best shop to use the best tint possible, you won't regret it.

I had mine done for 100 bucks 15 all around! (15 is the tint color... 20 is legal...15 isnt..) Make sure you get LIFETIME Waranty! If I even get a single bubble they will redo my whole job!

do you feel cool just cuz you got 15, and we all know that your tint isnt legasl, acually in the back and the rear windows it is legal, the only place its not legal is the 2 front windows. and the shop probably will only do the window that bubbles not the whole job over. also they probably used sunguard or a sister companym, they must have givin you a fake LIFETIME warranty becuase major companies like that only warranty legal work, why would they garantee an illgeal act so they will get the fine, no.

Ha, good thing I live in a place where anything is legal (well, at least when it comes to cars). :D Here's a recent pic of my car with the new tint (have to get a new pic of it, since my ride's been dropped by 1.5"):

Hhmm...looks as dark as mine. Did you also have your front windshield tinted? Mine is tinted dark neutral up front, but I might change that to light charcoal black, since it is still quite hot.

Don't know about there in the U.S. Here we can tint front windshields, and even use dark ones if we like. Here are pics of the Honda Club Philippines meeting last February. My car was not tinted dark then (in fact, it has only light tint, but the tint's faded since it's been 10 years since...). Note how dark the tints of the cars beside me look like:

thats so tight that you guys can tint your windsheild in the phillipines ... I hear you can tint the windshield in arizona here in the US ... and I saw a montero with FL plates on the freeway the other day with the windshield tinted, so you guys might be able to do that shit out there.

It's more of a necessity for us here to have all-around tinted glasses. It's to reduce heat. There's an added bonus of tint: if the windshield breaks for some reason, the tint acts a sort of adhesive, so the glass shards don't go into your face. Of course, you have to stop and punch out the glass to take it off (and don't use your bare hands to punch it out, but that goes without saying).

well how hot does it get there? I think they should just allow people in the US to do the windshield, cause you make a good point about the safety and how it holds it together if the windshield ever breaks.

It gets to around 33 degrees Celsius here. Am not sure how that converts to Fahrenheit, but I think it's about in the 90s or so. I think you can write your favorite congressman or senator about it. My uncle, when he went here for a vacation (he now lives in CA) saw that vans, SUVs and trucks here have a mirror stuck at the rear, or at the top of the, rear winshield. It's so that when you back up, you can see the people behind you. He said that it's still not common there in the U.S. yet (that was back in 2001), and that it would still require a legislation to make it into law. So I think that if you can write to the said people about it, they might consider that one.
