Warning Lights

I just test drove a 1985 300d Turbo. The car ran without issues but when I applied the brakes at idle a yellow warning light came on. If I put the car in park the light goes out. The light is a circle with broken parenthesis. What does that mean?

I think it is of emergency brake.
