Is the Brake Fluid Cap supposed to be a little loose?

99 Trans Sport (Montana), I just noticed the brake fluid reservoir cap could not be screwed tightly. It seems no worry it will be off, just not air tight. I wonder if this is the supposed to be or I have to replace the cap.

I'd replace the cap as you don't want brake fluid to spill out.

The cap may have been put on over-tight one time and stripped the thread.
