2004 BLAZER wont run, Wont pull a code, Security light STAYS ON 24/7

So its a 2004 blazer with about 80k on it.

Got some keyless remotes, Tried to install them via
the directions which ended at the year 2001.

So started searching for ways to program it, Nobody seemed
to know on this exact year, One person said try grounding
the bottom right pin of the obdII port and then do it. Well something
popped, The only bad fuse I could find was the CIG lighter.

All others were good, But the orange security light stays on.
Will NOT let the blazer start. It will turn over (if battery is jumped because the light has ran it down after being on for days)... But as soon
as it cranks it shuts right back down.

I also did the "passlock relearn", Ignition 3 times, 10 minutes, etc, etc
Didnt work, and not to mention the light doesnt blink or go off after
any amount of time like passlock is supposed to do, it stays on 24/7.

Got a scanner, OBDII type, that has live info, freeze frame, all 5 protocals, thought it would at least let me know what was wrong. It didnt even recognize the blazer at all:jerking:

It recognized the 96 beretta though and even pulled a code for me (i figured that thing had a sensor or something bad in it)... But it woldnt work for what I needed it for, and that is the family car. Kinda hard with a 2 door beretta, add me my wife and 2 kids=:eek7:

So here I am, Stuck, Security light still on, Scanner wont
read it.... What can I do besides get ripped at the dealer???????

Thanks for ANY help guys
(edit: just in case anybody was wondering the code on the beretta was p0401 insufficient exhaust something.)

Fix the cigar lighter fuse.
It powers the scanner.

But you may need more than a obd11 SCANNER TO GET BODY CODES OR READ SECURITY LIGHT CODES AND BODY COMPUTER.

Did the problem start with the remotes?

Hey man, Thanks nobody mentioned that before, The whole
time the fuse has been blown still in there, I figured it was just
the cig lighter and it wouldnt matter for now so I left it alone for the time being...

I got the OBDII scanner to read the vehicle.... But it told me no codes
were stored in the vehicles ECU. I tried over and over
same thing....... What does this mean?

The problem started after I grounded the bottom right pin on the connector. Let me give you a run down
on what EXACTLY I did.. Because It honestly wasnt much...

1. Got the keyless entry remotes, Did the "hold door locks, turn key, blah blah, Press lock/unlock
on keyless remotes for 5-10 seconds until locks jump" something or other, Anyway I tried that
about 10 times. Didnt work, Started searching on how to program it.
(I now think it has to be uploaded to the car via GM's software/scanner, cant just be done by doing
all this rinky dink key turning and door lock holding on this 2004 model.)

2. Found an article that said ground the bottom right pin on the obdII port could put a late model into "program mode"
I did that, and heard a "pop" sound. I found the only blown fuse was cig lighter,
So then I remember it saying it could be another pin, So I touched 2/4/5/ the only other pins with anything in them
besides the 16 I already touched. Didnt hear any popping
probly because I already blew the port fuse (cigg. fuse).

I couldnt figure how the 2 were related(cig fuse, and DLC), So I figured it was a freak accident, and left it alone.
The next thing I know, The next time I go to actually just crank it up, It cranks, starts, shuts off, Security light comes
on, Hasnt went off since (except when the battery drains, I jump it with beretta to get it powered back up, Light comes on, Stays on.

3. Replaced that fuse when I found out it was dlc, Finally got a clear connection with scanner, Scanner says NO CODES.
I know the scanner works, So its definatly in the blazer.. How could this have even happened!!?!!?!?!?

I feel like the dealer is going to completely rip us a new one and we just cant afford that right now
last I heard they wanted 350 for 2 brakes on somebody I knows suburban, And 1000 for a water pump replacement...
I mean are you seroius!!!!!!!! I can do those myself if it ever happened but WTF at the way they try to gank your wallet like that.

If the security light is staying on you have a security system problem.

OBD11 scanner will not read out anti theft systems.

You need a body computer capable to do that.

Try a neg battery cabel disconnect for 30 minutes.
Then go threw the relearn.
You will need a a slow battery charger hooked up when doing it or a junper car on it.

Key on for 10 minutes untill security lught goes out.
The key off.
Do that 3 times in a row.

On the next start if it relearned it should start.
If not find a good repair shop or dealer with a body capable scanner to check it out.

Ther is two different system.
Does your horn or headlights do any flashing or honking?
For more info on anti theft systems get a good factory repair manual All Data DIY online sub.

Good Luck

Well I tried that key on 10 minutes 3 times thing, a few times
and teh light never went out, No matter how long it sat. But none
the less I still tried it a few times and it never acted like it changed a bit.

No noise is being made by the car, No blinking lights... We
never had a security system put on it. I just dont see how me
touching the bottom right pin made it do all this. It did
have a gutted converter also by previous owner which screwed
us on emissions when we went to get it inspected a few weeks ago.

Do you think a serious shop could take care of it.. Like a shell
gas station, My pops knows a guy up at shell that used to race
cars hes a good dude from what I can tell and his mechanic seems
good too, I know hes got some kind of scan tool, Do you think
he would be able to check it out and get a reading?

BEcause I got alotta schedules I have to collaborate to make
this happen so I can get the dolley, my uncle and his truck,
My wifes schedule, gotta find somebody to watch kids.:screwy:

Oh man this is my kind of luck im not even surprised:cwm27:
