I believe there was an article in a previous issue of HPI magazine. I'll see if I can fish out the issue it is in.
edit: found it - issue #28 of High performance imports has a small article on the R32 Zero R . page 90.
In 1994, HKS decided to release a 'complete car' to showcase their wide range of performance parts. The Zero R was based on the last of the R32 GT-Rs, but is so heavily modified that it can really be considered a different car. The price was more than 30 million yen, which at the time was arround six times the price of the R32 GT-R at the time
11 were made but only 3 were purchased.
Hopefully the boss at HKS will do what has been talked about and rebuild the cars from the ground up and sold. Its a waste to see the pics of them sitting there gathering moss and rust :(

HKS Zero R
zero - 60 = 3.1seconds
1/4 mile = 11.0
Peak HP/RPM = 450/7500
Peak torque/RPM = 361/6000
Not 100% sure how accurate these figures are

Direct from HKS - they were trying to sell MotoRex some of the Zero R's.... they said 10 cars - and 2 sold.....
They were - the last I heard sitting in Japan - no engine - no transmission..
They wanted something like $150,000 for them when they were trying to sell them.
They said they would build the motor to spec.
