plastic timing cover cracked

ok the lower section on the timing belt cover is cracked and if the cracked part falles off underneathe the pulley is exposed. should i just glue it or just break it off. i dont want it to fall off when the cars running and fuck somthing up

If it were me I would pull it off then replace it when you can so nothing else flies in there. You could try gluing it together with some high strength high temp apoxy but it might be a hard thing to clamp together for 12 hours plus its not guaranteed it won't fall off with all the vibration and heat

if it's cracked to the point where your worried about it breaking off or hitting the belt, break it off.
