The standard manual that comes with my Concorde 1994 does not say
a word about it, however, most books do not include any extras on the car.
So how can I find out if this car have Auto-Headlights ? / Alarm.
The reason for the question is that this car have an ATC Control Panel
and right in the middle of the dash is the sun sensor.
Or is this sensor used only for the ATC and have nothing to do with turning
ON the headlights when getting dark ?
Someplace I read that this sensor is also used by the alarm system, so
how can I check / look for indications of this?
This car was bought from a dealer ( use ) and they dint tell me anything, maybe
is there but not working.........
I will like to find out.......
Thanks ! Gesy

If your headlight switch has a letter "A" position to the left of the off position then you have automatic headlights, when left in that position the headlights will come on when it starts getting dark, just like a streetlight :)
When you lock all 4 doors with the power lock switch (Pushing down the buttons or using the key to lock the car will not arm the anti-theft system if so equipped) and all doors are closed, or you use a remote key fob if you have one for the car to lock the car after all the doors are closed, and you observe a flashing red LED on the top of the housing in the middle of the dash that holds the sun sensor, then you have the anti-theft system installed.
If you want to test it, get in the car without the key in the ignition and push the power lock to lock the doors then close the door (Or close the door and lock with the key-fob) to arm the system, the red LED will flash at a rapid rate, when the LED flashes slowly (1 blink about every 5 seconds) the system is armed, do one of 2 things. Open the door, and the horn will start honking and the head and parking lights will start flashing. Or put the key in the ignition and start the car, the engine will start and run for about 3 seconds and then die and will not restart after repeated attempts, as well as the previously mentioned flashing lights and horn. To disarm, use the key in either front door and turn to the unlock position to shut off the system, or use the unlock button on the remote key fob.

Oh! And yes the sun sensor also is used for the automatic headlight function if so equipped.

Well, I am getting ready to get under the car and check the starter motor.
I have been without "Chico" ( My Concorde's Name ) for a week now.
Sounds like bad wiring at the starter or something wrong between the
solenoid and the motor itself.
The problem..... has been too cold this mornings, I guess today
is going to be warmer, will see.
After I fix that, then back to the ATC problem, as you may have see on
other posts / Thread.
Since business is slow, I can work better on my car and the house.
Thanks again !

If your not getting any cranking at all turning the key, try this test.
Open the power distribution box on the drivers side engine compartment, look at the legend on the underside of the lid and orientate the lid to the box layout, locate the starter relay and remove it. On the underside you will see 2 little indentations on the outside edge of the plastic base, using a small flat blade screwdriver gently insert and pry out slightly and upward on the cap lust enough to unlock that side of the cap, then do the same on the other side and remove the relay cover. The contact arm of the relay is right on top of the magnetic coil, you can lightly push on it and see the arm moving between the contact points. Holding the relay by the plastic base, insert the relay back into it's terminals in the box, then with your finger lightly press down on the contact arm, if the starter cranks then you have a wiring or ignition switch problem (Banking on ignition switch, these models did have problems with them), if it doesn't crank then go ahead and look into the wiring, grounding, and possibly a starter gone bad.

Sorry for coming back too late, yes I had done that and the solenoid "Clans" ( Noise )
very well, the starter does not move at all, but some times try ( 1 in 384 times )
Thanks for the trip, I do hear sometimes like an arcing, I dont know how to explain
this to you, but my line of work is electronics, and I can pickup that noise
not all the times, but once a zillions trys.
Seens ( I guess ) coming from the starter, I guessing bad wiring / connections
between soleniod & starter mortor.
If you read this, ( Since I responded so late ) which will be the best way
to take down the dam starter ?
On top you got the exhaust manifold, reaching from the bottom, you can
see very easy 2 of the 3 bolts holding the starter, but that one all the way up
there I cant see how to reach it, and after all that, you have the wheel balance bar
and what I think are, 2 lines of transmission fluid going and back from the radiator.
Whao...... I dont know where to start !

That I honestly can't say or give tips on, never had to do a starter on the 3.5 engine.
