ticking noise help plz

Hi, I have 99 f-150 and it has a tick tick tick noise in the motor,but it only does it when I change the oil.after the oil has like 500 to 1000 miles on it,you can't hardly hear the noise like it almost goes away when the oil starts to get dirty.what causes this and do I need to be concerned?
