Hemi Problems

Hi I accidentally gave my 04 Hemi a shot of diesel. Only about a gallon or less. It took out my spark plugs. I changed them the tip was compressed right to the electrode. It took out 2 more plugs so I changed them. seems to be running better but the check engine light comes on. Had it checked they say the cats are plugged. It is pushing out some oil out the valve covertop. put in a drain so it goes to the ground. Has any one successfully removed the cats. This motor was also chipped. I am scared it might have dynamited my motor. What do you all think please help.

Most chain type auto parts stores do free scans...get one and we'll talk about which codes are displayed.

Diesel runs good in mine...lol

Hi so far the only thing that came up when they ran a test was the catalytic converters were plugged. I am hoping this is all but I wanted to know if I may be up against something more

I haven't heard of a plugged catalytic converter trouble code.

Thats what they told me at the Dodge Dealership so I took off the catalytic converters but that did nothing the motor is done! Blowing oil out the exhaust and out the valve cover not a good sight. Barely made it back to the shop. New motor tomorrow, sad day for me.

Wow, sorry for your loss. Hope things go better with the new motor.

Have a Hemi cookie,

Sweet thanks for the cookie.
Ya I hope this motor is better, Do you know why the electrical harness on the motor for a 3/4 ton isn't the same for a 1/2 ton?

I dunno...maybe the brakes (ABS system) is different.

I'm surprised no one said anything yet......

Adding 1-2 gallons of diesel to a gas tank won't hurt anything and
certanly wont cause the type of problems you have...

ya that is what I figured. I know Diesel doesn't usually hurt a motor. There was a broken exhaust valve when I took the valve cover off after we pulled the motor. Before the motor went it was really dynamiting the spark plugs pushing the tip right to the electrode. I guess when I rip the motor apart we shall see what all we find wrong with it.
Thanks
