Convertibile

Alright guys, gotta question. Your probably gonna think im stupid but i have a 89 escort 2 door that i got for free...only 70 thousand miles and in alright shape, i want it as kind of a mess around car and i was thinking about trying to make it into a convertible or just removing the top, but i know this will hurt the structure of the car....is it enough to worry about and if it is what can i do to regain some of the stability. Thanks alot im sure i'll have alot more to come.

Also guys anything else that you can imagine that i could do to this car just lemme know, im up for pretty much anything so all ideas or suggestions are welcome!!! Thanks alot!!

Smitty_03, I know you want to mess around with the car, but will you have the money for that. I like the Convertibile idea. Maybe you could make a small truck out of it. Even better idea, drop the biggest engine you can find into it and see what happens.

The European Escorts are weird looking, but they are bad ass. they are fast as shit, and most of them come turbocharged. Why Ford doesn't put turbos in their U.S. escorts, I'll never know. Then we could go against the WRX and the SRT-4 Neons. It seems like all the manufacturers are going with either a turbo or a supercharger in their new cars. Where is Ford at?
