96 Accord Wagon, Stereo help

G'day,

I have a Jap import (RHD), US assembled, 1996 CA1 Accord.

It came with the factory Japanese TV and Stereo, but with out the factory CD changer, although the cabling is still there.

I've removed the orginal head unit (anyone want a JDM FM TV?) and replaced it with a simple single disc Pioneer unit, with 4x50W.

I also replaced the factory door speakers in the front with some Infinity units I found, not sure where they came from, but they sound alright (they were sitting on the book shelf, I must have pulled them out of an old car some time ago).

The problem is the complete lack of bass. Any attempt to turn it up results in lots of distortion from the door speakers, and there is no room, nor budget for an Amp and a Sub.
I need to use the full space in the back for carrying things around (hence why I bought a wagon).

Any suggestins on alternatives for generating clean bass?
There are another 2x6.5 inch door speakers in the back doors that are still factory standard (complete with paper cones :uhoh: ).
Is it possible to get good clean bass from a 6.5inch speaker if I replaced them?

I'm not a huge bass crazy nut, I don't want to go "thump thump" down the road.
I'm just looking for a nice clean crisp bass for listening to some goodPink Floyd etc.
Ideally I don't want to spend more than about US$50-60. (I know, I'm cheap).

you need an amp if your head unit can't provide enough to power up the door speakers...
