P0449 evap vent code

Had a 2000 Grand Prix GT 3.8L (non-turbo) in the shop today.
It had a P0449 code. EVAP vent short or open.
EVAP vent solonoid is behind the driver's rear bumper cover, behind wheel opening splash shield.
I verified the vent was closing when 12V was applied (bench test). Air wouldn't blow through solonoid.
I had 12V on the pink wire (from ignition), but to PCM signal (ground) on white wire. This wire leads back to PCM, wire position#2 on the bottom plug of the pcm (inside the air cleaner housing).
There was no continuity between pcm & solonoid.
I found a my white signal wire broken inside the insulator grommit that goes into the trunk.
