A standard headlamp adjusting proceedure that I use is as follows.
1. Make sure you have at least a 1/2 tank of fuel in the car, park on level ground 25ft from a wall or garage door and square to the wall/door. Make a vertical line on the door/wall even with the centerline of the car.
2. Measure from the ground to the mid point of the headlamp lens on each side, then make a mark on the door/wall with tape at this measurement.
3. Measure from the centerline of the car to the center of the headlamp bulb. Mark the wall/door with a vertical tape line at this measurement from the center line you marked earlier. You should now have 2 "+" marks on the door/wall indicating the vertical and horizontal centerlines of each lamp.
4. Turn the headlamps on, and adjust them vertically until the top of the beam pattern hits the bottom of the horizontal line you made on the door.
5. Turn the horizontal adjuster so the beam pattern is centered on the vertical mark you made on the door. You should be done.

There are two adjuster nuts (one for vertical, one for horizontal) on the headlamp assembly that you access from the top. I had a pic at one time, let me see if i can dig it up and I'll post if for you.

I took a picture with my cell phone. This is of the passenger side, the drivers side is basically a mirror image of this. The one adjuster screw is down in the hole on the right of the picture. My cell doesn't have a flash so you can't see it, but it's the same size as the one on the upper left.
